About the Event

Students will create at least one piece of jewelry in class, depending on student's work speed and the complexity of the project they design. (Design assistance will be part of the instruction in the class - so no worries!) As the costs of materials will be specific to the piece(s) the students create, there is no set kit fee. For an average sized pendant, a student can expect to spend between $40 and $60, including a stone. Sterling and fine silver will be available for purchase at class. A variety of gemstones will also be available for purchase, however students are encouraged to bring their own cabochones, stones, or embellishments so they can learn how to set the kind of stuff they love! Required tools- micro torch and firing block, jewelry files, rawhide mallet and hammers. (there will be tools available for use in class, but if you have your own, it's recommended to bring those as those will be the ones you'll use outside of class) Recommended tools - fine tweezers, solder pick, pliers, shears and/or jewelers saw.
