Have you always wanted to learn how to make jewelry using metals like sterling silver, but felt intimidated by the cost of getting started? Soldering real silver jewelry doesn’t require a setup that costs hundreds of dollars!
For an equipment investment of under $100, all kinds of creative doors will be opened to you once you learn how to use a Butane Micro-Torch for silver soldering. In this two-day workshop, we will cover all the basics of how to start metalsmithing and soldering with a torch.
You will create 3 styles of rings and 3 styles of earrings. We will cover how to size rings in different kinds of stock, how to make a freeform wire ring, and how to set small stones in premade settings. For the earrings, you’ll make a pair of hoops, a pair of dangly earrings with ear wires, and finally a set of post earrings…
