Enameling on Copper - sgraffito and stencils

Learn the ancient mystery of bonding metal and glass into a harmonious and colorful work of art. During this workshop, we will explore the basics of how to apply opaque glass powder to copper pieces to add color to your metalwork for jewelry or sculpture. We will focus on the techniques of sgraffito and using stencils to create bold and graphic patterns. Enamels will be torch fired so you will learn how to create enameled pieces without a kiln.

Experience is not required. We will cover all the basics. This class is for anyone wanting to learn to add color to their work and explore enameling basics.

Students will leave class with several pieces to use as pendants or earrings. The class kit includes jump rings and findings to make them wearable.
