Gold on a Budget

In this one-day intermediate-level fabrication workshop, you will combine the rich color of gold with sterling to elevate your designs and add value. We will discuss the differences in working with and the challenges presented by gold-filled stock and how to avoid some of the pitfalls.

Class price includes an assortment of stock to create at least one mixed metal piece, including both required solders, and studio consumables to ensure success with gold-filled products. Raw materials will include GF ring stock, decorative wire, bezel wire, 14kt plumb solder, and a 1.5x1.25” sterling sheet and solder. Gemstones used for the project can either be brought with you or purchased at class- smaller cabochons with a lower rise are recommended as GF bezel has fewer options for bezel height than sterling. 

Class size is limited to 4 so there is plenty of one-on-one instruction.
