About the Event
Students will create: A birdhouse pendant with a fire-in-place eyelet or wire bail with a set of dangles that will include a metal clay bird for their birdhouse OR a hollow shadowbox pendant with a molded element inside the cut out (same construction, different templates since not everyone loves birdhouses).
AND a set of 3 hollow embellished beads formed over a combustible core. The shapes will be premade due to time constraints, but there will be a variety of interesting forms that can be put on a leather cord to be worn as a necklace.
Students will learn: Clay handling, including texturing, cutting, molding and sculpting. Wet and dry refining. Wet and dry construction, including mitering, box building, reinforcing corners, including and reinforcing findings, finishing openings, drilling and pre-polishing.
