Enameling on Copper

October 27, 2024

10 am-5 pm

Learn the ancient mystery of bonding metal and glass into a harmonious and colorful work of art. During this workshop, we will explore the basics of how to apply glass powder to copper pieces to add color to your metalwork for jewelry or sculpture.

Experience is not required. We will cover all the basics. This class is for anyone wanting to learn to add color to their work and explore enameling basics. Students will leave class with several pieces to use as pendants or earrings plus jump rings and findings to make them wearable.

All materials and tools are provided. As we will be sifting powdered glass, a mask is required for safety. There will be masks provided - if you have a preferred style for comfort, you may bring it. You are welcome to bring any of your own tools or enamels (for safety, please only bring unleaded). Please bring a sack lunch.
