This class is perfect for beginners. You will receive an overview of what metal clay is, how to handle and work it, and how to fire and finish it. Since this is a starter class, the option to learn how to use the material before dealing with the pressure of trying to figure out how to design original pieces is built into the class. Molds, texture sheets, cutters, and templates will be available for those who would like to familiarize themselves with the material before embarking on a one-of-a-kind design.
We will polish and, if desired, patina the finished pieces.
The class kit, available for purchase at class for $40 (plus tax), will include:
2 sterling silver ear wires with rubber stoppers
Two crystal or gemstone dangles on sterling silver headpins
10 grams package of Art Clay Silver - fine silver metal clay
Bail for pendant
Leather and sterling necklace (16” or 18”)
Polishing pad
If you already have tools, molds, or textures, you’re welcome to bring them. There will be additional clay available for purchase at class also.
