About the Event

In this 2 day workshop, you will learn how to create settings for and properly set faceted stones in silver. We will explore making a traditional basket/prong setting (think engagement rings), tube settings and a custom stepped bezel setting. And we will work on ways to make these settings unique!

The kit projects include a ring, a pair of earrings, and a pendant, but are infinitely customizable by the student. If students want to bring their own stones to use in the ring and pendant projects, round or oval stones are recommended (6mm or larger)

Experience with using a torch to solder silver is not required but can be helpful. The use of all tools and all materials to complete the projects is included in the class fee.

However, if the student has a butane micro torch, soft soldering block, a soldering tripod, and basic hand tools (files and pliers) they are welcome and recommended to bring them as it will reduce sharing and get them familiar with working with their own tools.
