Botanicals and Bezels Jewelry Class

July 6, 10 am-5 pm

Are you ready to add unique cast elements to your work and create a piece that is truly one of a kind? Join jewelry artist Brandy Boyd for this adults-only class of silversmithing, utilizing sterling cast botanicals sourced from master crafters. We will create a pendant with a bezel set cabochon and add cast botanicals. You are welcome to bring your own cabochon to class and they will be verified as suitable for the project (recommended size for the stone is less than 1 inch square; the size should not exceed 1.5” x 1.5”). Class kit is payable to the instructor by cash or credit card. The class kit price of $55 includes all silver, gemstone, and cast botanical accent. Kits will be preassembled before class, and there will be a selection of gemstones to choose from. You are welcome to bring your own tools or supplies to use, but tools and torches are provided.

• Skill level: Entry - Everyone is welcome to join the class regardless of their skill level.
• What to expect: This class will teach you basic silversmithing. You will create a pendant with a bezel set cabochon (shaped and polished gemstone) and add cast botanicals as details.
• What's included in this class: Your cost covers this 7-hour class with instruction.
• Things to know: Please bring your own lunch or be prepared to order lunch either on-site or off-site. You are welcome to bring your own cabochon (shaped and polished gemstone), but the size should not exceed 1.5"x1.5". If you have silversmithing or jeweler tools, please feel free to bring them to shorten the shared time between students.
• Pricing and registration deadline:MBG Members $65/Non-Members $80
• There is a class kit fee of $55 per student which will include all silver, gemstone, and cast botanical accent. Kits will be preassembled before class, and there will be a selection of gemstones to choose from. Class kits are payable by cash or credit at the time of class. Register no later than July 4, 2024
