In this workshop, students will learn to work with silver metal clay, an accessible, hammer- and torch-free way to design and make real silver jewelry. Together, we will use building, texturing, firing, and finishing techniques to create a pair of double-sided textured earrings, complete with French hooks and a crystal accent, a pendant made from a mold, and a stacking ring. Students will have an opportunity to explore surface details on their finished pieces with polishing and patina, leaving with jewelry that is uniquely designed and crafted.
This class is great for beginners looking to try out metal clay, and for our more advanced users, there are lots of options for textures and molds to enable you to make something special.Basic clay handling, firing schedules, and finishing techniques will all be covered.
